Spinning Wheel

My mom brought the spinning wheel up to me last weekend. It’s an unfinished Ashford Traditional. It’s also slightly beat-up from sitting in storage for the last couple years. I took it to the Eugene Textile Center out on Hwy 99 to see if they could tell me what parts I needed to fix it up. They recommended a basic maintenance kit. This proved to contain all the bits and pieces I needed. For $18.50, I wouldn’t expect less. I used the kit to replace the tensions string and springs, the rubber that attaches the treadle to the footman, the drive band, and to oil all of the metal parts.
